Initial Assessment

EEG Procedure

During the EEG test, small sensors (electrodes) are attached to the patient's scalp to detect electrical activity in the brain. The procedure is painless and non-invasive. Patients are asked to relax, and sometimes, specific instructions such as deep breathing or exposure to light stimuli are given to observe how the brain reacts.

Data Analysis

The recorded brain wave patterns are analyzed by neurologists and trained technicians. The analysis helps in identifying abnormalities in brain activity that are characteristic of different types of epilepsy. This information is critical in determining the most effective treatment plan for the patient.

Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

Based on the EEG results and other diagnostic tests, a comprehensive diagnosis is made. The patient is then provided with a detailed treatment plan, which may include medication, lifestyle changes, and follow-up appointments. The goal is to manage seizures effectively and improve the patient’s quality of life.
